Why a digital menu?

A digital menu shows your dishes, prices and offers on a screen instead of on paper — and can be changed in seconds. Sold out? A new lunch special? Happy hour from 5 pm? One click and every screen is up to date. Moving images and appetising photos work harder than a laminated notice.

What you need

Three things: a screen, a player and a CMS. Upgrading an existing monitor? The Amazon Signage Stick turns any HDMI television into a menu board. How the components work together is explained in our digital signage guide.

To a menu board in a few steps

  1. Choose a screen or upgrade a monitor with a stick.
  2. Pick a template in the CMS and enter dishes, prices and photos.
  3. Create a playlist — for example breakfast, lunch and dinner separately.
  4. Set a schedule so the menu switches automatically by time of day.
  5. Pair and go live.

Tips for menu boards that sell

  • Few dishes per screen — readable from several metres away.
  • Real, appetising photos instead of stock images.
  • Dayparting: coffee in the morning, lunch at midday, specials in the evening.
  • Keep prices clear and current — no problem when digital.
  • Use movement sparingly so the menu stays calm.
