Overview
What the CMS delivers.
The lumafy CMS runs a single screen just as it runs several hundred across distributed sites — entirely in the browser, nothing to install. Two things matter at lumafy: simplicity and transparency. Simple, because lumafy is not a builder but a form in front of a finished template — you fill in fields and save, the layout is already built; so no one can break a layout, because no one edits one. Transparent, because you always know where your data sits and what the software does. The editor and device management are available in German and English.
Finished templates, not a builder
56 designed themes, each in landscape and portrait — 112 templates for hospitality, medical practices, fitness, hotels, retail, offices and trades. Pick a template, fill in the fields, save; the screen usually follows within half a minute. If nothing fits, request a bespoke template — we build it in your house colour with your logo and release it for your account.
Scheduling and playout
Playlists with up to 20 pages per screen, each with its own template and its own time window, controlled by time of day and weekday. One item runs on several screens at once; under each entry you see on which, and in what device state. With lumafy Pro you group screens into locations — a change then reaches one branch, a region or the entire estate.
Media and connections
Media library for images and video, PDF import up to 50 pages (each page becomes an image), recycle bin. Accepted formats are JPG, PNG, WebP, MP4 and WebM, videos up to 1 GB. lumafy Pro additionally embeds Canva designs, Google Slides, Google Sheets and YouTube.
Live data without tinkering
Weather for your location, news, calendars (ICS from Outlook, Microsoft 365, Google, Nextcloud), tables (CSV from SharePoint or Google Drive), currencies, crypto and stocks. The screens never query third-party services themselves — the server does that, once per source; credentials never leave it.
Monitoring, emergency, proof
A live overview shows which screens are running. If a device stops reporting in, an e-mail goes to those responsible. An emergency message appears full-screen on all screens at once. lumafy Pro adds proof of play by item and device, with reports as CSV.
Accounts, roles and IT
lumafy Lite works with one account with full rights and 3 GB of storage. lumafy Pro opens the system to any number of users with roles and graduated permissions, approval before publication (four-eyes principle), 10 GB of storage, a REST interface with tokens, and webhooks into your systems. Sign-in via your company account (OpenID Connect: Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, Keycloak) belongs to Pro; two-factor sign-in is in both editions. Every change is logged, with configurable retention.
Runs on your screens
On the lumafy ONE and lumafy CORE the CMS is built in, so no separate player is needed. Existing screens with an HDMI input connect through the Amazon Signage Stick — the player runs on Android and Amazon Fire OS. A screen can be switched off in both editions via schedule, black screen, device lock, HDMI-CEC and sleep mode; with lumafy Pro additionally over the network (Samsung MDC, LG, Philips SICP, PJLink).
When the connection drops
Scheduled content sits locally on the device and the playlist keeps running; after a restart without a connection the last saved state takes over. A connection is needed for new uploads, schedule changes and anything that comes live from the network. If no time window matches the current time, the page without a window takes over — the screen does not go black.
Your data, your server
lumafy is self-hosted, with a server in Germany or on your own hardware. No program library in the source code, no database server — all data in a single folder. A nightly, encrypted backup, offloaded to a second server that fetches it. You know where your content sits and who can access it.
Support from Germany
lumafy is developed and supported in Germany. You deal directly with the people who build the platform — no ticket ping-pong across time zones. Setup and onboarding are included in both editions.
Licensed per screen. Every connected screen needs its own active licence. lumafy Lite and lumafy Pro run side by side in the same estate, you can switch at any time, and content and layouts are preserved. And, fully transparent: a screen never goes dark at lumafy because of an invoice — if a licence is missing you get a note and an e-mail, the picture stays on; pairing is never refused either.
